Diary of a Snowy Day
It is not often that West Tennesseeans see 12 inches of snow fall. Or 8, or 9, or 10 inches… we measured 12 on our street but really who cares? It’s ALOT of snow. So people, stop debating and get back out in the snow for crying out loud! I haven’t seen this much snow here since I was a little kid. So today I was determined to cram every childhood memory I have from every snowfall of my childhood into this one magical day, so my kids can have such wonderful memories too. It is on days like today that it is so remarkable to live on the same street where you grew up. It’s an honest chance to go back in time, and I definitely went back in time today.
So here are pictures of my own beautiful kids in the snow. They trudged through deep snow drifts, sledded thousands of times down our big hill toward the lake (luckily no one ended up IN the lake), came inside and got warm for awhile, ate snow ice cream (really good if you make it with Irish Cream half-and-half), got bundled up again to play with the neighborhood friends on the playset and throw snowballs, sledded some more, drank hot chocolate, played with more friends, made a snowman, and then came inside as the sun went down. And to top it all off, we ordered a pizza. Now that, in my book, is a perfect day. Which is why I’m staying up way too late blogging about it when I really should be sleeping.
So forgive my indulgence as I post an unprecedented number of pictures of my own kids (and one of our dog Jack, who looks like he should have a barrel around his neck) on the blog…

Love the snowy day pictures. One of my favorite pictures of my daughter Lauren is when I captured her running out into the snowfall to catch snowflakes. I’m so glad I stopped getting into the car to run and get my camera! Still loving your pictures and have shared your website. I told a friend you will remember about your photography, hope she gives you a call. Take care! Kelli (Meek) Meoli
Thanks Kelli! I so appreciate all the kind words, and I hope you and your family are doing well.
