Christian and Victoria

March 13th, 2009

First of all, let me say that Christian and Victoria live in photography heaven.  Their house is like a big outdoor studio - perfect lighting, amazing architecture, wonderful textures everywhere you look.  For this amazing shoot we didn’t even leave their yard.  All in this one location I got shots that look like they were made in some castle in a fairyland, or a tropical jungle, or a magic tree house.

Secondly, it is very disconcerting to have lived next door to this amazing “studio” for about five years and never notice all its possibilities until I turned my lens on it.  How unobservant could I possibly be?  Although regular readers of my blog will recognize the fabulous steps, since I have “borrowed” them often for other shoots.

We had so much fun on this shoot.  I have known Christian and Victoria for so long they almost feel like my own kids, so it was very easy to get great relaxed pictures of them - no “get-to-know-you” period required!  The only drawback was that I had to take my own kids elsewhere during the shoot so they wouldn’t want to come out and play with their favorite neighbors.  Nothing like a running two-year-old to ruin a shoot they aren’t supposed to be in!

So here are some great pictures of my favorite neighbors, whom I will always think of as “Kischan” and “Vic-Tia”, since that is how my son used to pronounce their names when he was very little…

Even sweet Sophie the Dog wanted in on the action:
