Drew

I was honored to be part of Drew’s first birthday party.  He was the smiliest little boy – so happy and easy-going!  Drew’s favorite things: looking for Daisy the dog, sticks, leaves, hiding behind the curtains, chasing the ball, and most of all, CAKE!

Enjoy these adorable pictures of Drew.  And an aside… I swear that I did not enhance Drew’s blue eyes in any way.  They are actually that blue!  Amazing.

Reagan, Hayes, and Josie

After playing in the foot-deep snow just last week, it felt rather strange to be doing a newborn/sibling shoot and be able to go outside.  It was so warm, in fact, that we were even able to bring beautiful baby Josie outside.  Josie is just two weeks new, and she was such an angel during this entire wonderful session.  And her big brother and sister were also perfectly well-behaved.  I had such fun playing with them! Sadly, the one member of this sweet family who will not be featured on my blog, much to her great chagrin I am sure, is the fabulous Kitty.  Kitty is a beautiful calico cat who chose this family to be her very own, simply by not going away once she showed up at their house.  What choice did the family have but to feed her, even though Dad is allergic to cats? Kitty REALLY wanted to be part of the family portrait and was trying everything in her power to stay in the picture.  A hint to stray cats everywhere: persistance is the key.  I’m afraid Madison the dog got preferential treatment during this shoot – his picture even made it onto the blog.

There are so many great pictures from this shoot that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to narrow them down to a manageable number.  But that is what happens when you have 3 of the cutest kids ever.  And also when you have old rusty heirloom pedal cars and kids in rainboots.  These are my two favorite photography items, so if you have not one but BOTH of these at your house, you can be assured of a ton of pictures.

One thing I most appreciate about doing shoots at homes is that the kids are always totally relaxed.  They are in their own world among their own things, and surrounded by the people who love them most.  And it was obvious to me that this family has so much love within the walls of their home.  So here they are: beautiful Josie, sweet Hayes, and vivacious Reagan.

Morgan and Drew

Morgan and Drew were just SO cute for this Christmas session.  And I was in photographer heaven – the house we shot this in was just fabulous!  Long hallways and arched doorways, french doors everywhere, this incredible staircase, and even Christmas music being piped throughout the house.  And just to make it sweeter, this house is the same one where Morgan and Drew’s parents’ engagement party was held 12 years ago.

Morgan LOVES to sing and play the piano (a gorgeous Steinway!) and regaled me with the Princess version of “Twinkle Twinkle”, which was quite imaginative and included witches and dragons.  A girl after my own heart.  And Drew… well, he likes to crawl really really fast, especially away from the camera! Plus, he’s taking a few steps already!

So we had a blast, and here are some of the cutest pictures ever – they totally get me into the Christmas spirit.  These pictures seemed very well-suited to texture, so you’ll see lots of variety in the way I developed them:

Harrison

Meet Harrison, who at 5 months old is one of the happiest, smiliest babies I have ever seen.  I was so glad to finally meet him, since I had to reschedule his session twice because of rain two weekends in a row.  But in the end we were glad to have rescheduled, because between the initial date and the actual session, Harrison learned how to sit up!

I had so much fun playing with Harrison and watching him smile at his wonderful parents.  We got some great images of him with the things that are most important to him: his favorite toy “Jacques”,  a wooden rattle handmade by his grandfather, and a football.  OK, so Harrison doesn’t know about football YET, but trust me, he will.  He has already been to Oxford more times than I have in my entire life!

So here are a few of many wonderful pictures of little Harrison.

Lorne… (collective sigh)…

When I arrived at this session and 5-year-old Lorne opened his front door for me, I knew I was in for a treat.  He is well-suited to his name, especially dressed in his western-style shirt and skinny jeans (I have to get some of those for my William!).  I can just imagine when he is sixteen, with his handsome features, blonde hair, and blue eyes, as he introduces himself to a girl saying, “Hi, I’m Lorne,” and the girl fainting dead away.  And if you heard his last name you would really understand where that poor girl of the future is coming from.  But in the name of internet security, I will refrain from using it.

Lorne’s beautiful mom has hopefully had her new little boy by now (his name is Flynn! Yes, more unfortunate broken-hearted girls are in store for him too).  She was due on the day we took these pictures, so I hope for her sake all went well and Lorne has gotten to meet his new baby brother.  He was very excited about seeing Flynn for the first time!

So here is Lorne’s first introduction to the wide world of the internet.  And moms, make sure you know where your daughters are in about 11 years.
