Baby Morri

I had the privilege to take pictures of Morri’s big brother Jack during his first two years, and now it is Morri’s turn! She is such a sweet, beautiful girl, just like her pretty Mama! At three months she is already rolling over constantly and trying to explore her new world. We lucked out and had a beautiful day to shoot some pictures outside. Morri loved having her clothes off for a little while!  I can’t wait to document her first two years!

Jack, 6 months old

I took adorable pictures of Jack when he was a newborn, and I can’t believe how much he has grown! We did this shoot at the Experiment Station on a beautiful but hot day.  Jack’s mom brought such cute things too, like vintage-looking toys and flashcards, and she even made Jack’s cute plaid diaper cover the night before the shoot!

Rayanna

Introducing beautiful Rayanna, 6 months old.  She is the happiest, smiliest little girl! We had a great time at this shoot even though it was a REALLY humid day.  We were steaming out there, but Rayanna was a trooper and made it through several clothing changes before she finally had enough of the heat.

I can’t wait to see her again soon at her next shoot… I am sure she will have grown so much by then!

Dylan

I had so much fun doing this shoot with almost one-year old Dylan. His mom had the cutest little outfits for him to wear! Dylan’s most favorite activities are laughing a lot, crawling away really fast, and grabbing his Daddy’s glasses. We did this shoot at the Experiment Station, and it was a perfect day for pictures – just enough cloud cover to keep it from being too bright, although it was still a really hot morning!

Baby Ryan

Baby Ryan was so anxious to meet his sweet parents that he came early! Very early, while his parents were visiting relatives out of town.  Babies certainly work on their own schedules, don’t they?  But he is healthy and happy, and so very loved, as is obvious from these images.  We did the shoot at baby Ryan’s home… a baby’s own home is the best place to do a newborn photo session.  It is comfortable and convenient for everyone, especially for Mom.

Here are some pointers for newborn shoots, whether you are a pro photographer or just a mom taking pictures of your own child:  make your house really warm (cold naked babies are not happy babies!) and have plenty of changes of clothing for both you and the baby.  Make sure the baby has just been fully fed so that he will be really sleepy. We want a sleepy baby so that we can get those “curled-up” shots! And most important of all, be patient – newborn shoots can take anywhere from 2-3 hours.

So here is beautiful baby Ryan, who is the apple of his parents’ eyes.
