For my dear friend…

October 9th, 2009

What can you say when someone you love has one of the happiest days of her life? Well, first of all, you can show up with your camera, because in this case pictures speak a thousand words.  So these are for you, dear friend.  May you always be as happy as you were on your beautiful wedding day, and may you always be surrounded by love.  Because of all the people I know, you deserve it the most.

By the way, it’s really hard to take pictures when you are crying. Thank goodness for image stabilization lenses…

Baby Graham

October 5th, 2009

Baby Graham was so adorable for this session! He was by turns: alert, happy, fussy, sleepy, hungry, pensive, restful, more fussy, and finally just desperate for the lady with the camera to leave him in peace! In other words, he was just like almost every other newborn I photograph. I love photographing newborns because of the wide range of emotions they go through, and because I never know what to expect, which is part of why I love my job! Graham was really tolerant though, and allowed me to get some difficult shots I don’t always get.

Graham’s nursery is absolutely the sweetest baby boy nursery I have ever seen. His mom denied being a decorator but I am not convinced… every little detail of his ”seaside” room has been so lovingly attended to.  And little Graham is also lovingly attended to by his two sweet parents, who know him so well even though he is only one month old. It almost makes my heart ache for them, remembering how small my own children used to be, and knowing that Graham will grow up faster than they could ever imagine.  But then again, I also remember when my children were newborns and the time seemed to go so slowly. What is the saying? The days are long but the years are short…

I know that Graham’s parents are savoring every long day with their precious little one, for I am sure he is the greatest gift they have ever been given.

Josie Kate

October 1st, 2009

If you follow this blog, you will remember Josie Kate as a newborn at the hospital… I can’t believe how much she has grown in three months! She is absolutely adorable and the spitting image of her big brother Jacob (you may remember him from the blog too!)  Little Josie was so smiley and happy!  I can’t wait to see her again in a few months.
